The Last Day in Crete…

And what a day it was! The day started with the first-period class and then, with very sad faces, we checked out of our rooms in Crete. We were looking forward to our night Ferry and Athens but didn’t feel quite ready to leave this beautiful Greek island. However, we packed and got ready to go and then continued with our second-period class.

The rest of the day was free for a variety of adventures…napping on the rooftop terrace was high on the agenda for some…

Others caught up on homework or worked on their presentations or ISUs…

And still, others gathered at the seashore for a photo shoot with the newest additions to our family. Poseiden, Hades and Zeus have been adopted as the new Blyth Academy mascots/pets. The proud “parents” plan to transport their new pets with us on the ferry to Athens. We aren’t certain what their fate will be after that but for the moment they are filling the void left by our furry friends at home.

Last stop of the day was our ferry. The cabins were small but surprisingly well equipped with bunks, toilet and shower. The seas were fairly calm and everyone settled in for our overnight cruise to Athens.
