Our Last Few Days in Cusco

Can you believe this adventure is almost finished? We cannot! However, we are making the most of our last few days as we prepare to write exams and say goodbye to all of the friends we have made over the past months.

Film class has been making good use of the lobby to film scenes for their ISP. It will be screened for the first time after the final banquet and we can’t wait to see the storyline that involves Stephen looking very “Bond-like” at a desk as Yax receives his instructions. Should be interesting!

Leadership continues to organize us into various groups and activities. Maddi led us through the scavenger hunt, Victoria organized a mindfulness session, Stephen created the hilarious and very creative game “Wheel of Misfortune”. He made Kathy and George captains of their respective teams, the hotel reception may never be the same after watching the competition that ensued. Luke organized a wonderfully relaxing yoga session except for the tour who checked into their hotel rooms in the middle of our activity. I’m sure they had no idea what was happening.

The science classes are studying hard and World Issues is preparing to present their final seminars. All in all, lots of activity.

So, what do you do when the wifi at the hotel isn’t working? No worries, you head to Starbucks where the wifi is perfect and there is always a parade in the main plaza just outside the window. The sights and sounds of Cusco are colourful and very entertaining. Cute little children and their parents marching and dancing, bands playing and always the mountains in the background. We will miss this little town.
