Today, we travelled to Milford Sound, the renowned fjord, a four hour drive from Queenstown. Although it was a long bus drive, the time passed quickly as we were entertained by our bus driver’s tales of the history of New Zealand and given information about the wildlife and plants that are native to this area.
Once we arrived at Milford Sound, we boarded a boat and set off to enjoy the stunning views of the mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls. Seals were sleeping on the rocks as we passed through the narrow fjord.
The boat’s captain drove close to two of the waterfalls and some of us were able to touch the stream of water from the falls. Our bus driver told us that this is the most visited natural attraction in New Zealand. We all realized why!
