Itinerary

Beijing – Hong Kong – Siem Reap – Luang Prabang – Chiang Rai – Ko Lanta – Ayutthaya

Oxford & London

Begin this term in one of the United Kingdom’s most impressive seats of learning; Oxford. Enjoy a true university experience by staying in our comfortable accommodations at St Hilda’s College, and experience the beautiful city of Oxford. We’ll take day trips to London, and Bath & Stonehenge.

Barcelona

From the streets of Oxford to the beaches of Barcelona! A walking tour will acclimatize you to this energetic city. We will experience the grandeur of Gaudi at the Sagrada Familia, and the riches of the Picasso Museum.

Rome & Florence

From vibrant Spain to ancient Italy! Enjoy the grandeur of Rome with a walking tour and visits to the Vatican & Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum & Roman Forum and a day trip to Renaissance Florence.

Crete & Athens

Next up is Greece, the birthplace of Western civilization. Our first stop is Crete, Greece’s largest island, where we will rejuvenate on dazzling beaches, swim in clear blue waters and play beach sports. We end our term in Athens, where we will visit the Acropolis, as well as the Agora and the Temple of Zeus before taking our final exams and celebrating with our farewell banquet.

Beijing

Our launch point for this Asia adventure is Beijing. China’s capital city is both a modern and ancient place to explore. From the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the National Museum of China, everything tells an incredible story.

Hong Kong

We fly to Hong Kong, a vibrant city famed for its skyscraper-studded skyline. We’ll experience incredible markets selling everything from flowers to fashion, and goldfish to jade; a dazzling Symphony of Lights nighttime harbour front show; and a visit to the Po Lin Monastery, home to the Big Buddha.

Siem Reap

Another short flight brings us to the incredible country of Cambodia. We’ll be based in Siem Reap, where we’ll get to view the vast temple complex of Angkor Wat, and the surrounding monuments – from Ta Prohm, a temple enveloped in huge tree roots; to Bayon, decorated with huge carved smiling faces. We’ll also learn about the good work of the Landmine Museum and horrifying history of the Kymer Rouge.

Luang Prabang

Next, we travel to Laos, and the town of Luang Prabang. We’ll tour the most spectacular of over 30 Buddhist temples, seeing shrines decorated in gold, covered in intricate carving and inhabited by orange-clad monks. We’ll zip-line through lush jungle and hike to local waterfalls.

Chiang Raim

We then take a boat cruise along the Mekong River to our final country, Thailand. We begin in the north in Chiang Rai Province, where we’ll trek into the surrounding hills to see tribal villages, and take an optional elephant ride. Moving south we arrive on the island of Ko Lanta. Spectacular white sand beaches stretch along the west sunset coast. We’ll spend our days taking class on the sand and snorkelling in the clear blue waters.

Ko Lanta & Ayutthaya

Finally, we visit Ayutthaya, where we’ll take our final exam and enjoy a farewell banquet. Throughout this term we will also have several opportunities to participate in meaningful community work, volunteering in local agricultural or educational projects.
