Travel Journal 2016-17 Term 3:

Down Under in Brisbane

Cheers from down under!

We have arrived in sunny Brisbane!  A bit smaller than Sydney, with a bit more hustle and bustle than the Whitsundays, we are all very happy here in our new coastal city.  Upon arrival at the RFH on Gregory last night, we dropped our bags in our apartment style suites, and walked over to our dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant.  We later enjoyed a relaxing ‘stay in’ night and caught up on some homework/sleep.

We woke up this morning for breakfast and later went on a 2-hour walking tour of this beautiful city.  We saw the Riverside urban life, the Queen Street Mall, the famous South Bank Park, Historical monuments, the Story Bridge, and more!  A few of our students even attempted the Tough Mudder obstacle course we stumbled upon in City Hall Square.

The city is extremely green.  Directly beside our hotel we have the 16-hectare Roma Street Parkland, with opportunities for class, working out, or having some lunch!

After our tour, students went for a bite to eat and met their teachers at 1pm for classes.  We will finish up our day with study hall, family dinner at The Mill, and some free time in the evening for the students to soak up the culture in this amazing city.

Hope all is well back home.

Will update you soon!
